Animal Crossing: third series of amiibo cards to be launched on March 18th in Europe
During a meeting with investors, last week, Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that a total of 12.9 million amiibo cards were sold during Q3 2015-16 (and 21.5 million since launch). Of course, Nintendo doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon, and just announced the launch date for the latest batch of Animal Crossing amiibo cards in Europe.
This third series (which includes 100 new cards, and comes with a collector’s album) will be launched on March 18th in Europe. It’s the same day as the latest Animal Crossing amiibo figures (Isabelle (Summer), Kapp’n, Rover, Timmy and Tommy) in Europe and North America, so it’s pretty likely March 18th is also the launch date for North America.
On March 24th, Nintendo will release the fourth series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards in Japan: based on the launch of the previous series, we can expect this one to reach Europe and North America sometime in May.
