Bandai-Namco bringing Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Tales of, Taiko Drum Master to the Nintendo Switch
Bandai-Namco has always been pretty active on Nintendo platforms, especially the handhelds in Japan (who get lots of licenced games, along with more meaty projects). Naturally, they have several games in the works for the Nintendo Switch, and they were revealed during/following the Nintendo Switch Presentation.
Here’s three of the games/series Bandai-Namco is planning to bring to the Nintendo Switch:
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (title temp.)
In this game, you get to play as a Time Patroller, who has to travel through time in order to protect the history of the Dragon Ball series. You can play through the story mode on your own, where various famous characters from the series appear (including Goku Black, from the Dragon Ball Super anime series). You can also hop on to missions with up to 6 players, or chose one of the various game modes available.
Here’s the number of players for this game:
- TV Mode: 1 to 2
- Tabletop Mode: 1 to 2
- Handheld Mode: 1
- Online: up to 6 players
- Local multiplayer: up to 2 players
Unfortunately, Bandai-Namco hasn’t said anything about the Nintendo Switch version: (exclusive) features, modes, contents?
While we wait for more details, here’s some screenshots:
Dragon Ball Xenoverse (Switch) will be released later this year, worldwide.
Tales of
A listing on the official website (in Japan) indicates that Bandai-Namco is planning to bring its Tales of series to the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now: are we talking about a new game? A port? A remake? An exclusive? A multiplat? A spin-off? A compilation? Hopefully, Bandai-Namco will make some announcements soon!
Taiko Drum Master
That same listing indicates that Bandai-Namco is planning to bring the Taiko Drum Master series to the Nintendo Switch, no doubt with a new entry. With the Joy-Cons, there’s some really neat things that the developers could do.
The best thing about Taiko Drum Master releasing on the Nintendo Switch is that, even if Bandai-Namco never localises any of the games (which is extremely likely), then players will simply be able to import and play them on their European or North American Nintendo Switch without any issue.
