Devil’s Third: some additional details, no Multi-5 in Europe
A few minutes ago, Nintendo announced that Devil’s Third would come out on August 28th in Europe (less than a month after Japan). The company also sent a press release, with some additional information about the game. The first one probably won’t please many people: the game will not be Multi-5 in Europe.
Unlike the vast majority of games published by Nintendo, Devil’s Third will only be playable in those two languages in Europe:
– English (voices and text)
– French (text)
Next: some details about the Story Campaign, which focuses on Ivan (a former mercenary released from prison so he can right the wrongs of his past). His mission: take down a group of terrorists that he was once part of. The game takes place in world without satellites and electrical weaponry, which means wars are now back to close combat between soldiers.
As far as gameplay is concerned, it will blend first-person shooting with intense third-person hack ‘n slash action. Devil’s Third is a game by Tomonobu Itagaki (father of the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series), so fans can definitely expect some fast-paced and brutal combat (as seen in the overview video revealed this morning).
As for the multiplayer, it takes place in a separate future, in which Ivan wasn’t able to stop the terrorists. You get to play as a regular citizen, with two options: Diplomacy or Anarchy. You can either:
– join a faction in order to reclaim the United States, by making allegiances with other factions;
– play as mercenaries and assault the bases of other players.
In multiplayer, you can customise your base with other players, thanks to elements you win during battles. You’ll have to tigthen up your defenses, as assault from other clans are constant.
Devil’s Third (Wii U) will come out on August 4th in Japan, August 28th in Europe, and later this year in North America.
