Devil’s Third: tentative release date for North America, lots of screenshots/artworks

The development of Devil’s Third certainly hasn’t been really smooth… Originally announced for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2010, the game was then picked up by Nintendo after THQ (the former publisher) went bankrupt, who made it a Wii U exclusive and re-revealed it during E3, last year.

Devil's Third title

And after over a year of complete silence, Nintendo revealed a developer video on Wednesday (with quite a bit of gameplay footage), and announced that the game would eventually come out on August 4th in Japan. Unfortunately, the retail version will only be available on Amazon.co.jp in that country.

A few hours later, Nintendo announced that Devil’s Third would come out on August 28th in Europe, less than a month after Japan. The game won’t be retailer-exclusive (like in Japan), but there’s a catch: the game won’t be Multi-5, and the only languages available will be English (audio + text) and French (text).

Right now, we don’t know when the game will be launched in North America (Nintendo is probably waiting for E3 before making that announcement), but thanks to Gamefly, we have a tentative release: August 28th. Since many of Nintendo’s first-party titles launch on the same day in Europe and North America, this date certainly seems plausible.

And while we wait for further announcements from Nintendo, here’s lots of pictures for the game. First, let’s start with some screenshots (which aren’t all that new, for the most part):

Next, we have some artworks:

There’s also pictures of various areas, which seem to be the arenas for the multiplayer:

Finally, here’s some screenshots of the various loading screens:

Devil’s Third (Wii U) comes out on August 4th in Japan, August 28th in Europe and later this year in North America.
