[E3 2016] Ever Oasis: message from Koichi Ishii
Yesterday, during Day 2 of Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 2016, Nintendo revealed an action-RPG, called Ever Oasis. It’s a brand new IP, which will debut next year on Nintendo 3DS. The game is both produced and directed by the one and only Koichi Ishii, of Mana fame. Today, Nintendo posted a blog post about the game on its Topics website, and that post happens to feature a message from the man himself.
Here’s the translation of that special message, courtesy of GSR:
I am really glad that I was be able to introduce “Ever Oasis” to you all, today.
This is a game that will use the desert as its setting.
As the chief of a desert oasis, the hero sets out on an adventure with their partner, a “Water Spirit”, to improve it.
They will face a number of trials in the desert, but I think the hero will find the path they are meant to walk by overcoming these trials, and by meeting many new friends.
Even in the real world, there are times when facing adversity and meeting others allow us to notice certain precious things that cannot be seen with your eyes.
I believe that – for the sake of those precious things – carefully considering “what can I do” and “what should I do, and moving forward, is a very important part of life.
That idea serves as the main theme we want to impart in “Ever Oasis.”
I hope that you will all play “Ever Oasis” and feel some part of that yourselves.
