[E3 2016] Mario Party Star Rush: first details and trailers, screenshots, boxarts

Mario Party Star RushStealth-announced yesterday in Nintendo’s E3 press release, Mario Party Star Rush is the latest entry in the Mario Party. It will be released later this year on Nintendo 3DS. In this game, up to 4 players can play together, and move around at the same time on the board (one of changes made to make the whole thing much faster).

But this time around, it’s not the characters that move on the board, but a bunch of Toads instead. During a game, you can recruit various characters from the Mushroom Kingdom as allies, so they can lend you a hand. The game features various boards (located in different worlds), and in each one of them, there’s a boss battle. As you can imagine, all players have to coperate in order to take the boss down.

According to Nintendo, Mario Party Star Rush was designed for bite-sized portable play. Unfortunately, it’s not playable online: only local wireless is availale, for up to 4 players. But at least, the game is compatible with Download Play!
