[E3 2016] Yo-kai Watch 2: first English trailer, details, screens
In September, North American players will be able to discover Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits / Fleshy Souls. This sequel is even bigger than the original, with 350 Yo-kai to befriend (new and returning ones, with their own personality, abilities, and Soultimate Moves), new towns reachable by train, time travel (with the help of Hovernyan), and more.
The battle system remain unchanged: you send 6 Yo-kai in order to fight other Yo-kai. You use the touchscreen of the Nintendo 3DS to launch Soultimate Moves, purify Yo-kai, heal Yo-kai, and more.
As for the story, you will get to discover the origin of the famous Yo-kai Watch. You will also have to end a civil war between two factions of Yo-kai. During your adventure, you will be able to visit other villages and towns, such as Harrisville or San Fantastico, which are reachable by train.
But there’s another place you will travel to… Springdale, 60 years in the past! During that part of the adventure, you will meet Classic Yo-kai, and get their help to make sure that the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero is created (so that your timeline, with the Yo-kai Watch, is preserved).
Yo-kai Watch 2 features multiplayer with:
- up to 4 players in local wireless (Yo-kai Watch Busters)
- up to 2 players via the internet (challenge friends in battle)
Did you play Yo-kai Watch? If yes, you’ll be glad to learn that you will be able to get one of three special Yo-kai (Buchinyan, Noko, or Komasan) if you have a save data file from the original. And as mentioned previously, the two versions will feature their own exclusive Yo-kai. Finally, in case you forgot: Yo-kai Watch 2 will be compatible with the YO-MOTION medals. Scanning the QR Codes on them will allow you to unlock Yo-kai, items, and other bonuses.
