Fire Emblem Warriors: latest details (Pair Up system, Dual Attack, Guard, and Mystery), screens, more
Today, Fire Emblem Warriors is featured in Famitsu magazine, which means it’s time for the latest batch of details! This time, 4 new characters are introduced, but they were previously revealed in the gamescom 2017 trailer (check out this post if you haven’t watched it yet).
But that’s not all: we also have details about another gameplay system taken from the Fire Emblem series, and implemented in this game: the Pair Up system (first introduced in Fire Emblem Awakening).
In this game, when you get close to an ally, and select Pair Up, you can form a pair with them. Then you go and battle together, with one character at the front and one at the rear. When you’re paired up with another character, the Double Attack gauge appears: when it’s filled up, you can break the enemy’s guard.
The Dual Guard Gauge also appears when you’re paired up with another character. When it’s completely filled up, the Dual Guard allows you to nullify enemy attacks.
Finally, when the Musou gauges of both units are filled up, you can use Dual Mystery: a special combo technique, which is a lot more powerful that regular attacks. There’s various Dual Mystery attacks to pull off, depending on the combination of character. Yesterday, Koei-Tecmo shared a video showing Marth and Lucina’s Dual Mystery:
It’s safe to expect characters that are frequently paired together to have special Dual Mystery attacks, such as Chrom and Lissa, or Marth and Lucina for example. However, it’s not clear if you can pull off Dual Mystery attacks with any pair of characters, only specific pairs, or both (with special pairs getting special Dual Mystery).
Finally, we have the4 new characters (already revealed in the gamescom trailer):
- Hinoka (voiced by Kaori Nazuka in the Japanese version), who use Spears in battle
- Takumi (voiced by Yuuki Kaji in the Japanese version), who uses Bows in battle
- Camilla (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro in the Japanese version), who uses axes in battle
- Leo (voiced by Mamoru Miyano in the Japanese version), who uses magic tomes in battle
Here’s the latest screenshots and artworks for the game:
