Japan: various game creators talk about their projects for 2016
Yesterday, 4Gamer.net posted their annual article about Japanese game creators, in which they talk of 2015 (with their favorite games and movies), but also their projects for 2016. We rarely learn anything new about upcoming and/or unannounced games, but it’s always a good opportunity to check out what some of the most famous game creators are up to.
In this post, we’ve rounded up the parts relevants to Nintendo platforms, but if you want read more, you can click here (English), or here (for the full thing in Japanese).
- Akihiro Hino (Level-5): next year, Level-5 will reveal several new ideas and and games. One of them is even a new entry in a popular series… but which one? Unfortunately, we will have to wait before finding out.
- Shu Takumi (Capcom – Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick): next year, he will start preparing for his next project. He already explained Dai Gyakuten Saiban was the first entry in a new Ace Attorney series, but we don’t know if his next project is indeed a “sequel” to that game or not. Also, in 2016, he will supervise the script for the Ace Attorney anime series (airing will start in April).
- Takashi Hanzai (Square-Enix, Chief Planner): next year will be the 30th Anniversary of the Dragon Quest series, and as mentioned previously, Square-Enix will have several projects to celebrate. There will be a livestream about just that on January 13th, actually!
- Kotaro Uchikoshi (Spike-Chunsoft, Zero Escape series): next year is when the long-awaited Zero Time Dilemma (the third entry in the Zero Escape series) will be released. It looks like we might get details about it early next year.
