Japanese news (July 7): Kirby Café / Splatoon x Animal Crossing: New Leaf, more
Today’s Daily Briefs:
- Kirby Café
- Splatoon x Animal Crossing
- SEGA stickers on LINE
Kirby Café
In Japan, video game-themed cafés are pretty common and popular. They offer various dishes and drinks inspired by more or less famous video game series/titles, and are generally open for a limited time (as part of a promotional campaign for the release of a new game).
And today, it was announced that Kirby would get its own Café in August, produced by Sparkle & Co. We don’t quite know how long it will remain open, but we should know pretty soon!
In the mean time, here’s a little animation that was posted on the official Twitter account:
はじめまして!『カービィカフェ』です。この夏、「星のカービィ」の世界観をテーマにしたカフェをオープンします。https://t.co/dGo0tFNSkl pic.twitter.com/cV4cLaCtTJ

A teaser website has been opened, but it’s completely empty at the moment.
Splatoon x Animal Crossing
Last year, in July, Animal Crossing: New Leaf already received some collaboration content based on Splatoon. And today, it’s getting some more! Unsurprisingly, the theme of this second wave of Splatoon content is based on the Squid Sisters: there’s a live stage, patterns for creating various Squid Sisters clothes, and more.
