Lady Layton releasing on July 20th in Japan, as Layton’s Mystery Journey
Back in July 2016, during the Level-5 Vision 2016, Level-5 revealed Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy, the latest entry in the Professor Layton series. This time around, the protagonist is Katrielle Layton, the Professor’s very own daughter. it was originally supposed to be released this Spring in Japan, on Nintendo 3DS and smart devices, but it’s been delayed.
Instead, the game will launch on July 20th in Japan, as Layton’s Mystery Journey: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy. Quite interestingly, the mobile version of the game releases on the same day, but worldwide. As a matter of fact, the game is playable in the following languages: Japanese, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, German, and even Korean.
The Nintendo 3DS version will cost 4 800 yen (as opposed to just 1 900 Yen for the mobile version, but with micro-transactions).
Level-5 previously confirmed that Layton’s Mystery Journey would be released in Europe and North America in 2017, but didn’t specify which version (we naturally assumed both would make it). As of writing, we don’t know if or when the Nintendo 3DS version will be released outside Japan. It’s quite likely Nintendo is once again on publishing duty in Europe and North America, with an announcement to be made at E3 2017.
While we wait for a possible announcement, here’s the segment from the Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation:
