Here’s some additional footage from the official website (uploaded separately due to their unusual aspect ratio):

Rio Beach

In the game, you will get to take some time off on the Beach of Rio. You can meet several characters there, but also some Mii from others players from all around the world. It’s some sort of hub, from where you can head to the sport events and access the various game modes. There’s even a Carnival going on!

It looks like you can compete against Mii from other players in Olympics Tournaments, in order to earn medals, but unfortunately, there’s no online play.

As seen in the overview trailer, you can unlock up to 400 pieces of gear/costumes for your Mii. Those costumes are not just for show, as they also allow your Mii to power up. Finally, the website mentions the Heroes Showdown mode, where you can chose between Team Mario and Team Sonic (click here for more details about it!).
