Miitopia: demo version now available in Japan
Miitopia is a unique RPG, that would be best described as “Tomodachi Life meets StreetPass Quest / Find Mii”. It was released back in December in Japan, but hasn’t been announced for Europe and North America. With the strong sales of Tomodachi Life in the west (especially in Europe), it’s most definitely a matter of weeks (if not days) before we get an announcement.
In the mean time, in Japan, Nintendo just released a demo version for the game (separate from the preview version released before launch). It allows you to play through the beginning of the game, while enjoying all the features. The best part? You can transfer your save data to the full version, allowing you to keep playing from where the demo ends.
Nintendo also released the very first Software update for the Miitopia today, which brings it to Ver. 1.1. It is required to transfer your progress from the save demo. Click here for more details!
Next, here’s a new trailer for Miitopia, aimed specifically at Tomodachi Life players:
And as explained in this post, Miitopia is compatible with several amiibo. They can be used to unlock various costumes, based on the figures scanned. You can use that to dress up your own Mii, or create stories with Nintendo characters (such as Mario, Ganondorf, etc.).
Here’s some pictures for the amiibo feature:
Finally, here’s various tutorial videos, showing how to create specific Mii (cute, perky, etc.):
