Monster Hunter X: monster variants, more details, pictures and videos
This week, Famitsu has a 12-page article entirely dedicated to Monster Hunter X, with quite a lot of new details about the game. This time around, the focus is on variants, who are actually different from sub-species. It’s not just their looks which change: they’re also more dangerous. What’s more, you need a special permit in order to be able to hunt them.
Thanks to Capcom, who updated the official website this morning, we now have details and pictures for those variants, and more.
Here’s the variants revealed:
- “Crimson Bear” Arzuros, with a rather impressive crimson mane
- “Iron Wall” Daimy Hermitaur, with impressive defense
- “Deadly Princess” Rathian, who can shower you in deadly poison
- “Stone Crusher” Tetsucabra, with jaws even more powerful than the regular Tetsucabra
- “Whitegale” Narcaguca, with a rather deadly tail causing bleeding. It can hit so fast, it unleashes a razor-sharp wave
- “Golden Thunder” Zinogre, who has fully awakened its electric abilities, and has therefore become even more deadly (yes, it was apparently possible!)
- “Dark Lord” Rathalos, said to be the true King of the Skies. He strikes down without mercy anyone who dares intrude
Here’s a video from the one and only Gaijin Hunter, who goes through all the details from Famitsu (including those about the monsters mentioned just above):
