Today, Nintendo opened the official website for Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star in Japan (where it’s known as Girls Mode 4: Star Stylist), providing us with plenty of details about the game!

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – Intro

Just like the previous games in the series, this one has you managed your very own fashion shop. Your main job consists in picking up the right outfit for your customers, and this time around, you have over 20 000 clothings items and accessories to choose from. But that’s not all: you can also take care of their makeup, their hair, their nails, and more.

The game also allows you to customise the interior of your shop, choose your own look (it’s not just about customers, after all, you have to take care of yourself too!), and you can even design your very own clothes (that you can share with other players via the internet).

But one of the major changes/new features of this game is that your customers’ stories may unfold differently based on the outfits you select. You can also become a top stylist that works with stars!

And yes, just like in the previous entry, you will be able to scan amiibo to get special clothes in-game!

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – Coordinate

Just like the previous games in the series, Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star has you pick up clothes for the customers of your very own fashion shop. You have plenty of clothes to choose from (over 20 000 of them, and you need to pay attention to the various brands.

They’re all tied to a specific “style”, so if you don’t want to end up with a mess of an outfit, think carefully about the request of your clients to pick the right brands. Of course, you’re free to mix things up and use different brands for a same outfit, just make sure you know what you’re doing…

This time around, there’s some new accessories for you to choose from, such as bracelets and headphones. There’s also new breands specialised in bags, and in men fashion!

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – Total produce

As mentioned above, this game isn’t just about choosing the right clothes: you can also choose the haircut, make-up, and nail art of your customers, to ensure their look is 100% perfect, from the top of their head down to their very toes (ok, ok… just the shoes!).

You can tell the hair stylist how the hair of your customers should be, including the length, style, colour, arrangement, and more… or you can let them choose for you. As for make-up, you can focus on the cheeks, eyes, lips, etc.. And yes, as mentioned above, you can even take care of nails, to make them look as pretty as possible.

But your customers aren’t everything: you also need to take care of yourself, and you can do all of the above with yourself: change your clothes, hairstyle, make-up, etc… After all, how can you tell your customers how to be fashionable if you are not yourself? To change your clothes, you can do so from your room. For your hair, make-up and nails, you need to go to the salon.

Speaking of your room, you’re free to customise it at will. If you go to the shop, you can even purchase variosu things (such as furniture) to put in your room.

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – My shop

As mentioned above, you’re free to customise your shop (both the interior and exterior), to make it look truly unique: it’s your own shop after all, not anyone else’s!

Here’s what you can change:

the furniture (tables, chests, etc.)
small items (lamps, plants, etc.)
the position of furniture and items
the music

When it comes to the exterior, you can choose the outfits to put on the display mannequins, and more. You can even see customers’ reactions to what you have on display.

The game also lets you design your very own clothes and accessories, but also shopping bags, and more. You can even put them on display in the online shop, if you want. But that’s not all: you can create an emblem for your store, that can be used on the shopping bag, but also as pattern for your custom clothes, and more.

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – Dramatic

One of the major new features of this game is the many stories of your customers. When they come to your shop, those customers all have their own dreams but also troubles. Using fashion, you can cheer them up, giving them advice… What kind of impact your actions will have on their lives? Who knows, a young woman could very well ended up scouted by a talent agency thanks to the outfit you picked for her!

At one point, you will meet three girls, who all dream to become singers. It’s your job to support them, and make sure their dreams come true. And yes, that involves picking up the right outfits for them, for many occasions. There’s various events for them to take part in (such as live performances, for example), and you need to choose the right clothes for each one.

The three girls are:

Yayoi Sakurano. A cheerful girl from the countryside, that came to town in order to become a singer.
Tsukiko Aomurasaki. A young woman with outstanding singing skills, who dreams of becoming a singer. She likes coffee.
Hotaru Kinashi. A rather mysterious girl, who loves brand. She also happens to be quite the science-fiction buff, and is always talking about it. It looks like she has a significant following on the internet.

The game also features a “Live Simulator”, that allows you to recreate the live performances from the “main story”. You can choose the performers from the various characters found in the game (yourself, your customers, people from the city), and you pick the outfits for each one. You can also operate the camera, if you want.

Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star – Share

If you connect to the internet, you can connect with other players. You can share your designs with them, and various other things. When you visit another player’s shop, you can purchase their recommended outfits, and even take a picture with their owner. The game allows you to buy outfits created by other players, but also to sell your own.

If you want to share your creations with friends, you can do so via social networks (thanks to the Nintendo 3DS Image Share tool).
