Nintendo Accounts: Birthday month discounts in Japan
Back in December, Nintendo launched the Nintendo Accounts in Japan: a pre-launch meant to introduce off-device purchases in Japan. On the website, there’s a section for Personalised discounts, but so far, it’s only been used for global discounts. But starting this month, it will be used for something a bit more personal.
In their birthday’s month, all users with a Nintendo Account + Nintendo Network ID linked will get some special discounts (sent on the 24th). To do so, they will need to:
- have a Nintendo Account;
- link their Nintendo Network ID before the 24th day of their birthday month;
- set up their account so that they do receive emails from Nintendo.
Unfortunately, we don’t know what the discounts are like, and if they’re personalised at all. After all, the first batch will only be sent on January 24th (for those born in January). We also don’t know if Nintendo is planning to have a similar offer in Europe and/or North America, since the company hasn’t given any details regarding the launch of the Nintendo Accounts (which is coming out in March, along with My Nintendo).
