Nintendo NY: The Legend of Zelda Wii U playable during E3 week
Earlier this month, Nintendo confirmed that E3 2016 would be exclusively about the latest The Legend of Zelda game on Wii U (and NX), and… nothing else. Naturally, that means that all the E3-related activities at the Nintendo NY Store will be about that game. Today, Nintendo sent a press release to detail those activities, and revealed that 500 lucky fans will be among the first in the world to play the game.
In order to be one of the 500 lucky persons to play the latest The Legend of Zelda game during E3 week, fans will have to line-up for the Super-Fan Signup Day on June 11th. Only the first 500 eligible people waiting in line when Nintendo NY opens at 9 AM will receive a wristband. That wristband can then be exchanged for a ticket, which guarantees them a spot to play the game during selected times on June 14th to 19th.
But besides the gameplay sessions, there will be several activities, such as live screening of the Nintendo Treehouse Live on June 14th, on the 15-foot gaming screen inside the store. The gameplay sessions for the 500 lucky fans will then start at 3PM on that day, and will take place each day until June 19th. There will also be guided gameplay demonstrations by Nintendo employees, Zelda trivia (with prizes to win), and more.
Here’s the planning for this The Legend of Zelda Experience at the Nintendo NY Store:
- June 14th (12PM to 3AM): Nintendo Treehouse: Live screening from E3
- June 14th (3PM to 8PM): hands-on experience for fans with appointments
- June 15th-19th (Nintendo NY store hours): hands-on experience for fans with appointments)
- June 15th-19th (Nintendo NY store hours): guided game-play presentations with Nintendo experts and trivia
The Legend of Zelda (Wii U / NX) will be released in 2017.
