My Nintendo: website redesign now live, list of changes
My Nintendo is the new programme replacing Club Nintendo, launched in March worldwide. It allows you to get points simply by playind Nintendo games and using Nintendo services (such as Miiverse). Nintendo has made some minor changes since launch, but nothing groundbreaking… until today.
Indeed, a brand new design for the My Nintendo website went live today, and it didn’t bring just a brand new design… there’s also some new features.
Here’s some general changes:
- now, your Mii is fishing (or playing Super Mario Kart on the SNES) on the front page. Try clicking on it to see what happens!
- your points are now stored in jars (Platinum Coins and Gold Coins)
- there’s now a What is My Nintendo page
On the front page, there’s now links to the various sections of the website:
- Get rewards (to get to the list of rewards available)
- Earn points (to get to the list of missions available)
- Nintendo apps available on smart devices (only Miitomo for now)
The Rewards page has also been redesigned. When you arrive, you’re greeted with a list of featured rewards. Below, there’s links to the various types of rewards (as separate pages):
- Miitomo
- Software discounts
- Software and digital content
What’s more, a “New” icon indicates which category has new rewards available. Rewards are also divided in two categories: Platinum Coins and Gold Coins. And when on a reward page, you can now see the total of redeemable coins you have for that particular reward.
The Earn Points section remains unchanged, but there’s one new feature that regular users will love… you can now redeem all the coins at once. That way, if you have redeemed several missions, you will be able to get the coins for them all with just one, lone click!
There’s also a new Your Points section, with three sections:
- Point Overview (to see how many points you have)
- Expiry (indicates when coins are going to expire)
- Log (log of the coins your earned and spent)
Finally, there’s a little surprise on the website: if you can find your Mii, hidden on the My Nintendo website, you can get 10 Platinum Coins. There’s 3 of them to find, so that’s 30 Platinum Coins for you!
Here’s some screencaps:
We’re still looking for changes and new features, so make sure to let us know if you’ve found something we overlooked!
