Pokémon Picross: more details and screenshots
Pokémon Picross came out today in Japan, one day before Europe and North America. Thanks to Serebii, we now have some additional details for the game, starting with the energy gauge. It’s introduced in the second stage of the first area. Basically, each move costs one energy unit, and that unit takes 1 to refill. If you want, you can spend 10 Picrites to refill it immediately, but you can also upgrade your energy gauge by spending Picrites.
About Picrites, if you purchase 5 000 of them, they will then be available for free in batches of 1 000, from time to time. This was known before release, but there’s something we didn’t know: if you keep upgrading your energy gauge (by spending Picrites), you can completely get rid of it. You will be able to make as many moves as you want without having to worry about waiting.
Here’s the pricing for Picrites in the Japanese version:
- 200 Picrites: 80 Yen (sale) / 150 Yen
- 800 Picrites: 400 Yen (sale)
- 1 000 Picrites: 700 Yen
- 2 000 Picrites: 1 300 Yen
- 4 000 Picrites: 2 500 Yen
Pokémon Picross features Micross puzzles, and you can unlock them by completing challenges. There’s also some Mega Evolution puzzles, which require Picrites to be unlocked. Apparently, the game has some secret puzzles, which will require a password to be unlocked. In total, the game has 60 areas, including 30 from “Another Mode” (which features the same puzzles as the normal mode, but in Mega Picross).
Finally, here’s some screenshots for the game:
