Pokémon Red / Blue / Green / Yellow coming to the 3DS Virtual Console
Next year, the Pokémon series will celebrate its 20th anniversary on February 27th (Japanese release date of Pokémon Red and Green). To celebrate, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will release the original Pokémon games on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console:
- Pokémon Red
- Pokémon Green (only in Japan)
- Pokémon Blue
- Pokémon Yellow Version
The games will remain completely unchanged, but there will be one exception: players will be able to trade Pokémon using wireless communications. They will be released via the Nintendo eShop, but in Japan, download cards and a Limited Edition (including a box, a magnet shaped like a GameBoy cartridge, a clear file and a map of Kanto) will be released.
