Pokémon Sun and Moon: minor details, gameplay footage

Today, Pokémon Sun and Moon was showcased during a livestream on NicoNico. While nothing really new was revealed, we did get some new tidbits, along with plenty of gameplay footage. Of course, we recorded the relevant bits, and you will find our recordings just below (in case you missed the livestream earlier today)!

At the very beginning of the segment with gameplay footage, there was something moving in the grass. As the player approached it, the Pokémon that was in the grass ran up to him, and the battle began. However, it’s not clear what this is all about.

It’s quite likely that spots of shaking grass lead to rare/unique Pokémon. After all, there was a similar feature in Pokémon Black and White, but you had to walk to the Pokémon yourself. It’s quite possible more details about that will be revealed before launc.

Also, after you’ve caught a Pokémon, the Rotom Pokédex shows your progress: you can see how far along you are in the Regional and National Pokédex, with a progression rate for both.

Finally, during this livestream, we got to see Ilima’s trial, which is the first one you undergo during your adventure. It’s pretty simple: you have to explore a cave and find some Alolan Rattata. Midway through, some goons from Team Skull come and crash the party… though they (unvoluntarily) end up helping you. It was also confirmed there would be a total of 7 trials in the game.

Here’s the gameplay footage, starting with the main adventure and Ilima’s trial:

And finally, here’s some footage of Battle Royal match:

Pokémon Sun and Moon (3DS) comes out on November 18th in Japan and North America, and November 23rd in Europe.

Thanks Serebii for the extra details!
