Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World: latest stop-motion short, making of video, Corrin pattern for Yoshi
Last week, Nintendo released Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World in Japan. This Nintendo 3DS version of the game features some extras, such as the 30 stop-motion shorts with Yoshi and Poochy. Several of them were even uploaded on YouTube, allowing players to see what they could expect from the shorts.
And yesterday, Nintendo uploaded one more (and last?) stop-motion short. In this one, two Yoshi are racing, but one of them ends up using a certain method to win…
If you like those stop-mortion shorts, good news: Nintendo has shared a making of video, showing how Dwarf went and created them. Unfortunately, the video is quite short (less than a minute), but it does show some of the tools they used to create the stop-motion shorts.
Here’s the video (and some pictures):
Also, since Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World has been released in Japan, some people have already started taking a look at the game files. The good folks at The Cutting Room Floor have found an unused (and inacessible) pattern linked to Corrin’s amiibo.
It’s pretty interesting that this Yoshi pattern was found in the files, as that implies the following:
- the Corrin amiibo was supposed to be available by the time the game launched;
- the developers may have included the pattern ahead of the amiibo’s release, to avoid having to release an update to add it… though that makes you wonder why only this specific pattern was found (there are other announced amiibo not yet released)
Speaking of Yoshi patterns, the game features several ones not found in the Wii U version of the game (and not tied to an amiibo). For example, there’s two patterns for the NES and SNES respectively. But the patterns are not the same depending on the region, as it’s based on the Famicom / Super Famicom in Japan, and the NES / SNES in North America.
Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World (3DS) comes out on February 3rd in Europe and North America.
