Splatoon 2: Hero Mode revealed; bundles, accessories, more
As announced on Tuesday, Splatoon 2 was briefly showcased during the ARMS Direct, at the very end. And as many suspected, Nintendo used that opportunity to finally reveal the Hero Mode (Single Player), which is obviously brand new.
Here’s the trailer:
As you can see, the Hero Mode is significantly more fleshed out than in Splatoon, with even more enemy types, obstacles, gimmicks, and varied stages. The biggest change is that you can use different weapons this time, such as the Splat Roller, the Slosher, the Splatling, or even the new Splat Dualies. But there’s one thing that has not changed: this single-player mode is designed to teach you the tips and tricks to use in multiplayer.
About the story, it looks like Callie has gone missing, and Marie is asking you to go find her. She’s the one acting as your guide this time around (who knows what happened to Cap’n Cuttlefish)! It looks like Callie’s disappearance is somehow linked to the evil Octarians, but what happened exactly? You will have to play the game to find out for yourself!
Here’s some screenshots and a couple of artworks:
