Star Fox Zero: website update (details, videos, screenshots, more)

Star Fox ZeroFollowing the Nintendo Direct, on Thursday, Nintendo updated the official website for Star Fox Zero in Japan. It provides us with some new details (mostly technical), but also some new screencaps, and some gameplay videos!

Without further ado, here’s the intro video from the Japanese version of Star Fox Zero, as well as gameplay footage for the various vehicles:

Technical details and screenshots

Here’s some technical details:

  • Genre: 2 screen 3D Shooting;
  • Players: 1 to 2. Playable in co-op, with one player using a Wii Remote or Wii Pro Controller to control the aircraft (Airwing, Landmaster, etc.), and the other using the GamePad to aim and shoot at the enemies;
  • Save data: 1 file for all users, requires 1.5MB of free space;
  • Sound: Surround (Linear PCM);
  • Controllers: Wii U GamePad (not compatible with Off-TV), Wii Remote (Plus) + Nunchuk, Wii U Pro Controller. When playing in co-op, Player 1 must use the Wii U GamePad;
  • Miiverse: Yes, post messages.

This section features the intro of the game (in Japanese): you will find it at the top of this post! There is also a “Correlation diagram”, which introduces the main characters, and shows their relations with each other.

Also, this section confirms that the Falco amiibo will unlock something in the game… but doesn’t say what for now!

Finally, here’s the various versions of Star Fox Zero in Japan:

  • Star Fox Zero stand-alone (retail / Nintendo eShop): 6 156 Yen
  • Star Fox Zero + Star Fox Guard (retail): 7 020 Yen
  • Star Fox Guard stand-alone (Nintendo eShop): 1 620 Yen

Star Fox Zero (Wii U) comes out on April 21st in Japan, and April 22nd in Europe and North America.
