Yo-kai Watch getting a third movie next year
In less than two weeks, on December 19th, the second Yo-kai Watch movie will hit theatres in Japan. It’s called Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!, and features 5 self-contained stories.
Unfortunately, it’s a bit too early to tell exactly how it’s going to perform, as it doesn’t seem to have sold more advance tickets than its predecessor (which would have been really impressive: with one million tickets sold, the first movie is an all-time record for TOHO, who never sold so many advanced tickets in its 82 year history!).
But it doesn’t really matter if the second Yo-kai Watch movie manages to do better than its predecessor or not: there is going to be a third movie next year anyway! Sayaka Suguru (TV announcer, TV Tokyo) announced it during a special event for Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!, this week-end. Unfortunately, she said that details regarding the movie were kept secret for now.
This third Yo-kai Watch movie will hit theatres in Winter 2016, which most definitely means December 2016… December 17th, to be precise. Of course, it’s quite likely we will have to wait a couple of months before getting a proper date.
