Yoshi’s Woolly World to get update for Yarn Poochy amiibo; 3DS version details + screens
Earlier today, Nintendo shared a second trailer for Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, detailing and showcasing the new features of this Nintendo 3DS port. Right after, the company sent a press release to share some additional details, along with some new screenshots.
Hidden in the press release is a pretty neat detail for players on Wii U: Yoshi’s Woolly World will get a Software update on February 3rd (in Europe and North America, with Japan most likely getting it on January 19th). It will add compatibility with the Yarn Poochy amiibo, which means players will be able to summon him in-game, just like in Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World.
In the Nintendo 3DS game, scanning the Yarn Poochy amiibo in one of the Poochy Dash courses will unlock collection of exclusive fast-paced and exciting Time Attack missions. If you complete them, you will get some exclusive patterns for Yarn Poochy.
Nintendo also mentions compatibility with new amiibo, such as Animal Crossing (Isabelle, Tom Nook), or Splatoon (Marie, Callie), which allows you to unlock special patterns for Yoshi (based on the aforementioned characters).
Finally, Nintendo explains that the 30 stop-motion animation shorts, found in the Yoshi Theatre, are unlocked daily. There’s actually a question at the end, but it’s not clear whether giving the right answer unlocks anything or not.
Here’s the latest batch of screenshots for Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World:
