Zelda: Tri Force Heroes to feature Boss Rush mode, special challenge levels, snapshots
Exactly one week ago, Nintendo opened the full Japanese website for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, and the company didn’t wait long before opening the last section (World). It confirms what we already knew about the number of levels: there’s 32 of them in total, divided in 8 areas (each with a specific theme).
At the beginning of each level, players have to pick up one (and only one!) weapon each, among the three available. It can be totally different items, or there can be “duplicates”, but in the end it doesn’t make any real difference: players will have to cooperate and make good use of their respective items in order to get through the 32 levels of the game.
There’s 9 items in the game:
- the Sword
- the Bow
- the Bombs
- the Hookshot
- the Boomerang
- the Fire Gloves (allows you to throw fire)
- the Water Rod (allow you to make pillars of water)
- the Wind Jar (allows you to use gusts of wind to move things… including your teammates!)
- the Hammer (allows you to activated switch, but also break pillar of ice)
The website introduces some of the additional features of the game. Besides the 32 levels of the main story, players will also be able to enjoy:
- Special levels, based on already existing levels, but with a twist: complete a level with only a few hearts, reach the end of the level while being chased by a Wallmaster, etc. Completing those challenges allow you to get some pretty rare materials;
- a Versus Mode, in which you can challenge your friends in hectic battles (separate hearts for each player). Forget co-operation: this mode is all about becoming the best Link, and there can only be one winner (who will get some rare materials);
- Boss Rush mode;
- Daily Luck game: each day, you can try your luck with this mini-game. You can find some rare materials inside the treasure boxes!
- you can take a screenshot at any time, and then post it to Miiverse when you’ve cleared the level.
Here’s various screencaps from the official website:
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS) comes out on October 22nd in Japan, and October 23rd in Europe and North America.
